Congratulations to Anton Kopylov (Russia), who has been certified on the Captains of Crush (CoC) No. 3 gripper—the international benchmark of world-class grip strength.
“I started training with grippers in 2011, but there were long breaks between workouts. I seriously resumed training at the beginning of 2024,” Kopylov told IronMind.
“In 2011, one of my friends brought a gripper to the university. The load was roughly equivalent to a CoC No. 1. At that time, I couldn’t close it.
“Currently, I do three training sessions per week with grippers. I follow a powerlifting system, working with 80-95% of my maximum.
“A strong grip helps in every day life: I can easily carry heavy objects, open jars lids and packages.
“I work in a field unrelated to sports. I am involved in the production and sales of ventilation equipment. I have been involved in sports all my life: 7 years of table tennis, 5 years of athletics, and now I regularly go to the gym.
“My grip goal, which I have been pursuing for almost 15 years, is to achieve certification for the CoC No. 3 [gripper].
“Since 2024, I have been training with Nikita Yurkovets, and my progress has improved,” Kopylov told IronMind.
Goal reached: Anton Kopylov has joined the elite group of gripsters certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3.
Here’s a video of Kopylov’s official attempt: spoiler alert . . . he dominates the CoC No. 3 both right- and left-handed!
