Redkin said that 20 athletes were invited and the field was whittled down to four competitors for the finals.
The events were:
• Axle Overhead (140 kg for reps)
• Tire Flip (320 kg x 8 flips)
• Sandbag carry (100 kg for distance)
• Rolling Thunder (maximum)
• Axle Deadlift
• Dumbbell (73-kg for reps)
• Mas wrestling
The last event was new to strongman and it’s a traditional Yakut test of strength that involves two competitors sitting opposite each other with their feet planted against a board. The object is to pull the stick from your competitor’s hands or to pull your competitor over the board.
Here are the final places and points:
1. | Tarmo Mitt (Estonia) | 27.0 |
2. | Nikolaj Krasotkin (Russia) | 15.0 |
3. | Vostan Gevarkjan (Armenia) | 14.5 |
4. | Alex Lapirov (Belarus | 13.5 |
