It came down to Russia vs. Russia in the 2016 IronMind Rolling Thunder World Championships and in the end Roman Penkovskiy prevailed over his countryman and Rolling Thunder world record holder Alexey Tyukalov.

In a repeat of the Rolling Thunder competition at the 2015 Armlifting World Championships in St. Petersburg, Russia, Penkovskiy won on bodyweight after both Tyukalov and he made 123 kg before both men missed 128 kg.

The 2016 IronMind Rolling Thunder World Championships were featured at Odd Haugen’s grip competition at the Los Angeles FitExpo, where the action in grip strength, strongman and mas wrestling continues today.

Haugen, a veteran of Rolling Thunder competitions and one of the world’s best in this benchmark grip strength event, called yesterday’s contest, “the best ever.”
