IFSA General Secretary David Webster said today that Highland Games/strongman competitors Sebastian Abbatiello, Forbes Cowan, Graham Mullins and Gordon Smith have just returned from Marrakesh (Morocco), where they have been working in a Steven Spielberg film called "Gladiator." Webster described the film as "an epic for the millennium," and said that it's been "the experience of a lifetime" for this group of athletes. Webster said that Holland's Ted van der Parre (1992 "World's Strongest Man" winner) had been rehearsing, as well, but was injured and withdrew; and that England's Jamie Reeves (1989 "World's Strongest Man" winner) had also been among the cast, but withdrew to concentrate on powerlifting.
