Matt Sandford Wins 2001 Highland Games World Championships

Matt Sandford successfully defended his Highland Games World Championships crown over the weekend.

It was Sandford's third title, matching runner-up Ryan Vierra's record.  David Barron was third and Harry MacDonald was fourth.

In the women's class, Shannon Hartnett continued to reign supreme, with another dominating win.  In the challenge weight for height, yesterday, Harrison Bailey dazzled the crowd with his spin technique, nailing first place with an 18-foot throw, before missing 19 feet.
