Ken Brown made a guest appearance at the APF National Masters Powerlifting Championships over the weekend, and on his opener, pulled a 365-kg deadlift, for an American record in the 140-kg class. Brown, who made a big splash at the '97 "U.S. Strongest Man" competition (see MILO, Volume 6 - Number 2), said he didn't "want to go too hard" because he's only two weeks out from the Beauty & the Beast strongman competition. Brown had been doing over 800 pounds in the gym every week, as part of his strongman training, and had wanted to do it officially, so when this contest came to town (Fresno, California), he decided to stop by and "just pop one up."
