Saying “Weed out the weak,” Jon-Clark Eklund, who won the Captains of Crush (CoC) Silver Bullet Hold in Odd Haugen’s grip contest at the LA FitExpo this past weekend, wants to raise the ante in this global test of grip strength.

Since the CoC Silver Bullet Hold was introduced by IronMind in 2012, Eklund has proven himself to be a consistent, high-level performer. The CoC Silver Bullet holds pits the gripster against a Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper, which is  clamped down on a CoC Silver Bullet and then held for time.

Tough as a Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper is to close, or “even” to hold a 19 mm CoC Silver Bullet in place, Eklund is calling for something tougher. “Go straight to the [Captains of Crush] No. 4,” said Eklund. “Weed out the weak!”
