Along with saying that three Norwegian competitors have “qualified for the semifinal stage during the last weekend´s competition,” Jyrki Rantanen reported to IronMind that the “winner of the IronMind Grip Classic Record Breakers will be invited to the grip competition in Moscow which will be held during the world famous A1-armwrestling competition with plenty of TV and other media coverage.”
Rantanen has been actively working to expand grip strength contests, at both the national and international level.
“The travel and hotel for the athlete will be paid by the organizers from Russia and Finland. The Record Breakers competition will also replace the qualification which was meant to be held in Salo, Finland on April 15, but had to withdraw due some sub-organizer problems.
“The co-operation between Finland and Russia is getting deeper as the Russian qualification produced several athletes earning their spots to the semi-final and already at least Alexey Tyukalov has confirmed his arrival to Lahti in September,” Rantanen said.
