Ioan Cristian Puscasu: Close But No Cigar on the CoC No. 4 Gripper

In what was the first attempt since 2004 to officially close a Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper, Romanian arm wrestler Ioan Cristian Puscasu came close, but it was no cigar.

Knowing that this was history in the making, the attempt was filmed live by Romanian TV and this is how Puscasu’s referee, professional strongman Paul Pirjol, reported the action to IronMind:

“Just got back from Ioan's No. 4 gripper attempt and I'm sorry but I want to tell you that he missed it!  He closed the gripper, but still had 2 millimeters until touch it, he was close but not enough!  after that he did like 7 reps with the 3.5 CoC just for the tv.”

In case you're not familiar with Ioan Cristian Puscasu, he certifed on the Captains of Crush No. 3.5 gripper quite casually at the 2010 WAF World Armwrestling Championships.

Great effort, Ioan and thanks a million, Paul for all your good work that helped to make this attempt to officially close the Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper possible.
