Hafthor Wins Strongest Man in Iceland

A favorite for this year’s World’s Strongest Man contest, Hafthor Julius Bjornsson won the 2016 Strongest Man in Iceland contest, Magnus Ver Magnusson reported to IronMind today.

2. Ari Gunnarsson 127

3. Stefan Sölvi Pétursson 122

A four-time World’s Strongest Man winner, Magnus Ver Magnusson has as eagle eye for strongman talent and it was he who has urged Hafthor on from the days when the former basketball player started coming to his Reykjavik gym, Jakabol.


Since then, Hafthor has become a top competitor on the international professional strongman circuit as well as a star on the TV series Game of Thrones.
