“His name is Ed Hall.  He is still only 23 yrs old.  Stands at 6 foot 2 and 140 kg.  He won the UK's Strongest Man title in 2011.  Rumours are he has done a 400-kg deadlift and backs it up with phenomenal shoulders.  This is his first international test. He will be replacing Jono MacFarlane of New Zealand who has suffered a back injury,” said Bryce.

Giants Live is the official qualifying tour for the World’s Strongest Man contest and the Melbourne contest opens the 2012 Giants Live season.  From the first competition to the final runup to WSM, follow full details on Giant Live, and for the Melbourne competition this is where you can buy tickets.

December 2015, Vol. 23, No. 3: He'd been slogging away in the 2004 World's Strongest Man for over a week and after finishing the last event (and placing third overall), Magnus Samuelsson asked Randall Strossen if he had a Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper with him. Is the Pope Catholic? Magnus's brother, Torbjorn, had said to me, "Magnus has no fear of the No. 4," but that seemed understandable given the things I'd already seen Magnus do with Captains of Crush grippers.
