Cesare Ricchezza says he was inspired by hearing about the grip strength of World’s Strongest Man winner Magnus Samuelsson—flash forward and Cesare now has some pretty big bragging rights of his own and he has just been certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper.
On his official attempt, Cesare Ricchezza, who is a CPA and second-year law student, delivered a dominating performance on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper. Is there a CoC No. 3.5 certification in his future? IronMind® | Photo courtesy of Cesare Ricchezza.
“I got into grip training when I learned about Magnus Samuelsson’s incredible hand strength. I was watching the “World’s Strongest Man” competition one year and they mentioned that Magnus Samuelsson is one of only 5 people who have certified on the Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper.
“I researched the [Captains of Crush] grippers on the internet and ordered the No. 1 and No. 2 grippers. I closed both of these grippers on my first try and was amazed when other strong guys I knew couldn’t.
“I ordered the No. 2.5 and No. 3 right away. I was able to close the No. 2.5 on my first try but the No. 3 stopped me in my tracks. I was hooked at this point and made it my goal to certify on the No. 3 gripper. I have been dedicated to this goal for the last 8-½ months,” Richezza said.
Congratulations to Cesare Ricchezza, your name has been added to the official certification list for the Captains of Crush (CoC) No. 3 gripper and special thanks to Steve Weiner (who is certified on both the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper and on the IronMind Red Nail) for jumping right in when IronMind asked him to serve as Cesare’s referee, quietly going the extra distance repeatedly.
Impressed by Cesare’s strength, Weiner reported, “He dominated it, and he held it shut very convincingly. He made it look really easy.”
