The International Highland Games Federation (IHGF) has announced the 2015 IHGF World Amateur Highland Games Championships, scheduled for 19–21 June 2015, in Fefor, Norway.

According to the official statement, the site of the amateur world championships “will be on the grounds of the magnificent and luxurious Høifjellshotell, owned and operated by Anne Grethe Horten, and host to many strength championships over the years in Norway. Co-produced by the IHGF and Sveinung Tangstad of the Norwegian Highland Games Association, an affiliated member and representative of the IHGF for Norway, the 2015 IHGF World Amateur Highland Games Championships will be filmed and made into a program for TV in Europe.
“Twelve athletes from 12 different countries have been selected to represent their homelands in the 2015 IHGF World Amateur Highland Games Championships and compete for this coveted title. The winner will earn his professional status and secure a spot in the lineup for the 2016 IHGF Pro World Highland Games Championships. The names of the athletes will be released soon in the IronMind News as well as information about another potential championships being hosted in Norway, also in 2015.”
