Jean-Louis Coppet will host the 2012 IHGF European Amateur Highland Games Team Championships in Bressuire, France, IHGF vice president Francis Brebner told IronMind.
“A contract has been recently signed between the International Highland Games Federation (IHGF) and Jean-Louis Coppet, president of the IHGF for France and also the main organizer for the Bressuire Games; he will host the 2012 IHGF European Amateur Highland Games Team Championships,” Brebner reported.
“A total of twelve top ranking amateur athletes from throughout Europe will be competing in teams of two in the first ever IHGF European Team Championships. This will be held in the amazing setting of the thousand year old Château de Bressuire in France on June 9–10. This contest will also be the host of the 16 lb.–22 lb. IHGF European Stone Putting Championships.
“Jean-Louis Coppet, and the organizing committee of Bressuire, are delighted about next year’s major IHGF event which will be televised for European TV,” said Brebner.
IronMind expects an update soon on the 2012 IHGF European Highland Games Super Series, as well as other IHGF events hosted in Europe.
