Zydrunas Savickas (Lithuania) flexed his muscles in London today, winning the 2010 Europe’s Strongest Man contest and raising the bar on the Apollon’s Axle world record to 193 kg.

A full scale assault on the Apollon’s Axle world record kicked off the Europe’s Strongest Man contest and who should take top honors but Zydrunas Savickas as he broke Derek Poundstone's record.  Savickas hit 193 kg, with Krzysztof Radzikowski (Poland) coming in second place with 183 kg.  Along with the top two, three other competitors made successful lifts with 173 kg: Louis-Philippe Jean (Canada), Jimmy Marku (England), and Terry Hollands (England).

Stojan Todorchev (Bulgaria) proved once again that he’s the man with fleet feet, as he won the Farmer’s Walk in a time of 20.00 seconds.  Zydrunas Savickas was second, at 21.46 seconds, and  Mark Felix (England) was third, at 22.57 seconds.

Zydrunas Savickas won the third event, a medley, with Terry Hollands (England) second and Stojan Todorchev third.

Mark Felix won the deadlift for reps (16 reps), Terry Hollands was second (12 reps), and Zydrunas Savickas and Louis-Philippe Jean were tied for third (11 reps).

The last event was the Atlas Stones: Felix won, Todorchev was second and Savickas was third.

Both Jimmy Marku and Terry Hollands were injured and unconfirmed reports have both with torn biceps.  Hollands, who is having a tremendous early season, retired early on the Atlas Stones, but was able to finish in second place overall nonetheless.

Here are the official places and points:

1. Zydrunas Savickas 40.5
2. Terry Hollands 33.0
3. Mark Felix 31.0
4. Stojan Todorchev 27.0
5. Louis-Philippe Jean 24.5
6. Sergey Rumin 19.5
