Jack McIntosh won “the first ever Chiltern’s Strongest Man” contest, Denny Felix reported to IronMind®.

“Held this past weekend in the beautiful countryside of Buckinghamshire at the annual Chiltern’s show,” Denny Felix said, “8 athletes competed over 2 days, in glorious weather.

“Jack was strong throughout, and after winning the 3 racing events (Farmer's Walk, Sack Carry and Railway Sleeper [railroad tie for Americans] Flip, the athletes nicknamed him "Road Runner."  He shared a win on the Axle deadlift for reps with Rob Frampton, who came second overall.  Liam O'Sullivan in third, veteran Simon Flint in fourth and Colin Jones in fifth.

“[This was] our first successful two-day event at an agricultural show: many thanks to the athletes and crew, look at for more in 2011."

Incidentally, Denny’s husband, Mark Felix “was head referee,” and he must not have been a pushover as Denny notes him “giving a few no lifts on the deadlift.”

“Great lineup of athletes, great weekend; great, great, great.”  And if you thing strongman at this level is all glamour, consider that Denny Felix reported, “We had to share the main arena with ducks, horses, dogs and vultures.  Only in Strongman, lol; different time slots of course.”
