SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA – Three-time world champion John Godina became the first Titan Games shot put champion today, with a throw of 67 feet 3-1/2 inches, and Olympic silver medalist Adam Nelson was second, with a throw of 66 feet 9-1/2 inches.

The shot put was part of an afternoon program which featured a live band, and thanks to side-splitting announcers, matched big throws with big laughs for the star-studded field of spectators.

Tonight's events include weightlifting, fencing, judo, Taekwondo, boxing and wrestling.
