A Purpose to Serve
“God and nature never do anything in vain, for whatever is brought into existence has some purpose to serve.”—Dante Alighieri
The next time you feel like life is piling it on, it’s not a bad idea to make your way out to some natural setting, stroll around a bit, and reflect upon Dante’s words. I’ve employed this logic many a times while hiking my favorite mountain trails. If, make that when, I come upon some large boulder in my path, I just assume it’s there for a purpose . . . and then lift it!
Editor's Note: Steve Jeck’s books, Of Stones and Strength and The Stone Lifter; and videos, Kviahellan DVD, Jeck on Stonelifting video, and Classic Jeck: The First Works CD, define the world of stonelifting.
