There was a time when the bulk of serious weightlifting performed in this country took place in cellars and basements by lone, driven individuals without the benefit of blasting music, wall-to-wall mirrors, and the "Oohs" and "Aahs" of the crowd. There is a direct relationship between the size of the crowd you are trying to impress and the number of bad decisions you'll make in the process.
